Job Description

About the Role Eska USA is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to oversee local accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, cost accounting, budgeting, cash management, and finance-related compliance. This role supports both local facility operations and corporate finance objectives by ensuring accurate, timely, and well-documented financial information. The Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting manufacturing performance, improving financial visibility, safeguarding Company assets, and identifying opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, margin improvement, and stronger financial performance. Identifying and supporting measurable cost-saving and optimization opportunities is a key performance indicator for this position. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and related accounting functions. Manage monthly and year-end close processes in accordance with corporate deadlines. Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, properly supported, and maintained in accordance with Company policies, US GAAP, Dutch GAAP, and applicable accounting standards. Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for Company leadership, including trend analysis, variance explanations, and items requiring management attention. Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business performance reporting. Support manufacturing finance through cost accounting, inventory valuation, production cost tracking, margin review, and variance analysis. Analyze material costs, labor costs, overhead, scrap, waste, production variances, and other manufacturing-related financial data. Identify, document, and communicate opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, risk reduction, and process optimization. Manage daily cash positions, liquidity, bank account administration, banking relationships, working capital, and treasury transactions. Support financing arrangements, including lines of credit and factoring program reporting. Monitor foreign currency exposure across Euro, Canadian Dollar, and US Dollar transactions. Establish and monitor customer credit limits, payment terms, accounts receivable aging, and collections activity. Review and approve outgoing payments, wire transfers, and other treasury transactions in accordance with Company authorization procedures. Coordinate with external tax advisors on income tax, property tax, GST, transfer pricing, and related compliance matters. Complete required government reporting, including applicable BLS surveys and other mandatory filings. Identify, evaluate, and manage applicable state or government grant opportunities. Establish, maintain, and enforce internal controls over financial reporting, cash, inventory, purchasing, payables, receivables, and Company assets. Support local and corporate audits, insurance renewals, risk management activities, and external financial reviews. Manage the competitive quote process for Company purchases in accordance with procurement policy. Provide backup support for Staff Accountant functions as needed, including check deposits, AP/AR transaction processing, customer setup, and credit-related order release reviews. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field required. Certified Public Accountant certification preferred . Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and Company accounting procedures. Experience with US GAAP required; Dutch GAAP or international reporting experience preferred. Manufacturing finance, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and operational financial reporting experience strongly preferred. Ability to analyze financial data, explain variances, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions. Demonstrated ability to identify cost savings, process improvements, and financial optimization opportunities. Experience with ERP and accounting systems required; NetSuite experience preferred. Proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools; Power BI and Cognos BI experience preferred. Ability to use automation, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence tools to improve reporting, analysis, and productivity. Experience in a multi-currency environment involving USD, EUR, and CAD transactions preferred. Strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, professional judgment, and ethical conduct. Ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial personnel at all levels of the organization. Work Environment This role is primarily office-based but requires occasional access to production, warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing areas for inventory counts, operational reviews, meetings, and business support. When entering manufacturing areas, the employee must follow all Company safety rules, PPE requirements, traffic patterns, and posted safety procedures.
