Job Description
Houff Corporation and IDM Trucking are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team. This position will support the financial operations of multiple affiliated companies and play a key role in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance activities. Key Responsibilities Oversee biweekly payroll processing for multiple companies. Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations. Oversee accounts receivable, customer billing, payment processing, and account reconciliations. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities. Prepare and file sales tax, use tax, IFTA, and other required reports. Administer company credit card programs and customer payment systems. Assist with intercompany billing and financial recordkeeping. Help improve accounting processes, accuracy, efficiency, and cross-training within the department. Qualifications Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable required. Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience with multi-company accounting. Banking, ACH processing, and tax reporting experience.
