The Assistant Controller will oversee core month-end close activities, manage three direct reports, and lead efforts to document, standardize, and streamline accounting processes. Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller Walk through and oversee the month-end close process, including journal entries and accrual accounting Manage, coach, and develop three direct reports; push work to appropriate levels while remaining hands-on Standardize, document, and automate accounting templates and SOPs for staff and management Oversee accurate execution of basic accrual accounting and closing procedures Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency Qualifications for the Assistant Controller Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred) Strong technical accounting background with solid accrual accounting expertise 3–5+ years of people management experience with a hands-on leadership style Experience with Great Plains or similar ERP systems (Dynamics / Business Central) Demonstrated ability to create, document, and implement processes and SOPs Timing is everything.
