Our client in Mukilteo, WA location is currently hiring for a Controller

• Local. This is an onsite opportunity working core business hours. This role is designed as a key succession-planning position with a clear path to Vice President of Finance within 2-3 years. The position does not support relocation, and candidates must be able to work onsite in Mukilteo, WA. Pay
• $147,900
• $200,100 annually (Depending on years of experience, tenure, software proficiency, and relevant job titles) Location

• 5:00 PM) (Responsibilities)
• Direct and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Design, implement, and maintain strong internal financial controls
• Prepare forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range financial models
• Serve as the primary financial subject matter expert supporting business unit leaders with reporting and performance analysis
• Provide financial guidance on pricing and proposal activities in compliance with government contract requirements (FAR, DFAR, TINA, CAS)
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and operational efficiency
• Partner with IT to automate financial workflows and enhance reporting through data warehousing and Power BI
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team (Qualification Requirements)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
• Experience supporting manufacturing or aerospace environments
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting
• Demonstrated experience with variance analysis (budget to actual, year over year)
• Experience with government contract accounting (FAR, DFAR, TINA, CAS)
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or data warehousing tools
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, cross-functional initiatives
• MBA or professional certification (CPA or CMA) highly preferred (Disqualifiers)
• No experience with GAAP or technical accounting
• No experience with government contract accounting requirements
• Limited exposure to manufacturing or aerospace environments
• Insufficient experience leading or developing accounting or finance teams (Employee Value Proposition)
