Overview Our client is seeking a strategic, hands-on Controller to oversee the organization's accounting and financial operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting compliance, and providing financial insights that help drive sound business decisions and long-term growth. The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting leader who enjoys partnering with operations, improving financial processes, and supporting a business with multiple operating locations, dynamic revenue streams, and seasonal fluctuations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. Strategic Finance Partner with executive leadership on cash flow planning, budgeting, and financial strategy. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to support organizational performance. Build financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital investments, and long-term planning. Collaborate with operational leaders to promote financial accountability and informed decision-making. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements and regulatory reporting. Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk. Coordinate annual tax preparation and work closely with external accountants and auditors. Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and financial controls. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience with ERP or accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Experience supporting multi-department or multi-location organizations is preferred. Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial information for non-financial stakeholders. Collaborative leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience in venue-based, hospitality, entertainment, or service-oriented organizations is preferred.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
