Job Description

Overview Privately held commercial subcontractor doing business in the Puget Sound for over 80 years. Join as the Controller and lead accounting operations and serve as a trusted financial partner to leadership. Reporting directly to the President, this role oversees accounting, HR, and administrative functions while driving accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement. This is a high-impact role for a finance leader who enjoys both strategic involvement and day-to-day leadership. What You'll Do Lead all accounting and finance functions, including AP, AR, payroll, job costing/percentage of completion, sales tax, fixed assets, inventory, and balance sheet reconciliations Manage monthly close, prepare financial statements, and perform analytical reviews of financial results and processes Oversee and develop the accounting team, including training and performance oversight Partner with the President on annual business planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives Drive accounting process improvements, system enhancements, and automation to modernize back-office operations What You'll Gain Direct access to executive leadership with meaningful influence on business decisions The opportunity to modernize systems and improve processes in a growing organization The chance to make a measurable impact on profitability, efficiency, and scalability High-impact Controller seat with real visibility to leadership and potential to grow to a CFO Salary 150k-170k + bonus Who You Are Bachelor's degree in Accounting 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience; CPA+ A confident people manager with excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills A proactive business partner who combines technical expertise with a service-oriented, solutions-focused mindset Experience with larger ERP systems (Great Plains a plus) Construction, manufacturing, or similar industry experience strongly preferred #INMAY26 #LI-MG7 EB-8355897840
