Job Description

Location:
On-site in Vancouver, WA (supporting multiple affiliated companies) Robinson Restoration and its affiliated companies are seeking a hands-on financial leader to oversee accounting and finance operations across multiple growing businesses in the restoration, construction, environmental, electrical, and contents industries. This role is ideal for an experienced Controller who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys improving processes, building structure, and leading teams through growth and change. We are looking for a leader who can strengthen accountability, improve reporting, create scalable systems, and partner closely with ownership and operations. We need someone willing to roll up their sleeves, lead by example, embrace technology, and drive continuous improvement. What You'll Do Lead accounting and financial operations across multiple companies/entities Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger activity, job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting Manage month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements and management reporting Develop financial controls, reporting structure, and operational accountability measures Improve visibility into profitability, cash flow, and operational performance Coordinate audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements Partner with ownership and leadership on strategic financial planning Create structure and accountability within the accounting department Improve workflows, reporting accuracy, and operational processes Help modernize systems and reporting capabilities Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions Support technology adoption, automation, and AI-forward operational improvements where appropriate Help build a finance organization that can scale with company growth Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team Create stronger team structure, communication, and accountability Partner cross-functionally with operations and office leadership Build trust while creating consistency and improved financial discipline Help establish long-term departmental processes and leadership structure Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of accounting/finance experience 5+ years of leadership or management experience Experience managing accounting and finance operations for companies with $50M+ in annual revenue Experience overseeing accounting operations for multiple entities or business units Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, financial controls, and cash flow management Advanced QuickBooks experience Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling, and data analysis Preferred Qualifications CPA, MBA, or Master's degree preferred Restoration, construction, and manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred Experience helping organizations scale and professionalize accounting operations Experience building or restructuring accounting teams Experience implementing operational and financial technology improvements What Makes Someone Successful Here Strong leadership presence with the ability to build trust and accountability Comfortable leading through change and growth Organized, process-driven, and solutions-oriented Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Adaptable in fast-paced, evolving environments Strong communicator who partners well with operations and ownership Forward-thinking and open to technology, automation, and modern finance tools Not resistant to change or innovation
