With a strong operational foundation and continued expansion on the horizon, we are building out the finance and accounting infrastructure to match our growth. The Role We are looking for an experienced Controller to own all accounting, financial reporting, and HR operations across both companies and all four locations. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct exposure to ownership and a real opportunity to build and improve systems rather than simply maintain them. You will serve as the primary finance partner to the CFO and play a key role in driving visibility into job-level profitability, strengthening controls, and supporting continued growth. What You Will Do Own the full monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely financial statements at both the entity and consolidated level Ensure accuracy of job costing across all builds and analyze labor, material, and margin performance by job and location Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, WIP tracking, and cost allocation across all locations Manage multi-state payroll (IL and WI), benefits administration, onboarding, and HR compliance Lead and develop a small accounting and HR/payroll team, standardizing processes across locations Implement and maintain strong internal controls and ensure multi-state regulatory compliance Drive process improvement, workflow efficiency, and systems upgrades where applicable Partner with the CFO and ownership to deliver actionable financial insights and support strategic decision-making
What We Are Looking For Required:
5+ years of accounting experience with leadership responsibility Background in manufacturing, construction, or a job costing environment Strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting Experience overseeing payroll and/or HR functions Hands-on, detail-oriented, and process-driven with a track record of building, not just maintaining
Preferred:
