Position Overview:
Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, operational performance metrics, and the annual budgeting process for a manufacturing site. This role partners closely with operations leadership to understand cost drivers, analyze variances, and provide clear financial insights that enable data‑driven decision making. The position owns site‑level financial performance, including profit and loss management, budgeting, cost accounting, and analytical support for strategic planning and execution.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial statements for site leadership Own and maintain the site profit and loss statement in accordance with accounting standards Perform detailed analysis of sales, product costs, manufacturing expenses, and operational variances Provide financial insights to support decision making, process improvements, and performance optimization Lead annual budgeting processes, including manufacturing costs and departmental expense budgets Support development and presentation of budgeted financial results Partner with plant leadership and operations to understand business drivers and financial impacts Support audits, year‑end close activities, and internal controls Contribute to plant business process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CFA Preferred) Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment Strong background in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems Ability to prepare and present executive‑level financial presentations Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, timely, and consistent financial information
