Job Description
Job Overview The Racine Community Foundation (RCF) connects generous donors with opportunities to strengthen Racine County through philanthropy. Through thoughtful stewardship of charitable funds and strong partnership with nonprofits, the Foundation helps ensure generosity today creates lasting community impact. RCF seeks a Controller who will be responsible for the Foundation's accounting and financial operations. Reporting to the President, the Controller oversees financial reporting, budgeting, investment and cash management, grant and gift processing, payroll and internal controls. The Controller works closely with the President, staff, Board of Directors, and the Finance and Investment Committees to provide accurate financial information and support sound financial oversight. Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements and reports, leading the annual budgeting process, coordinating the annual audit and Form 990 preparation, managing relationships with auditors and investment professionals, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements. The Controller also supports the financial administration of charitable funds and grants and collaborates with donors, professional advisors, and staff to ensure accurate stewardship of gifts and distributions while maintaining strong financial systems and processes. They may be asked to assist with other office management tasks too. The ideal candidate is a mission-driven professional with strong technical expertise and attention to detail. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field and 10+ years of accounting or financial experience are required. CPA, MBA, nonprofit or fund accounting experience preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, along with high integrity and confidentiality are essential. Pay is commensurate with experience.
