Position Title:
Assistant Controller Position Overview:
The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including financial reporting, operational accounting, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives. This role assists with monthly close, financial analysis, multi-entity accounting, and strategic growth activities, including acquisition due diligence and integration support. The Assistant Controller partners cross-functionally to help ensure accurate financial reporting, scalable processes, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Support the Controller in managing the general ledger, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes. Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements while identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased reporting efficiency. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll entries, expense management, and monthly close activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Reconcile bank transactions, verify deposits, and address banking inquiries. Maintain knowledge of current accounting practices, standards, and procedures. Assist employees with accounting-related training, troubleshooting, and process guidance. Prepare payroll-related journal entries and upload them into the accounting system. Prepare and distribute annual 1099 forms and assist with year-end tax reporting requirements. Assist with year-end reporting, financial reviews, audits, and external reporting requirements. Assist with financial due diligence activities related to acquisitions, mergers, and strategic growth initiatives. Assist with other duties as assigned
Language Standards:
Must speak, understand, and write fluently in
English Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close processes. Proficiency in accounting software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs. Join an unstoppable team with irresistible culture. Pay starting at $70,000. Salary will be determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education and work experience. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidates experience, education and skill level.
