Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. In this pivotal role, you will oversee accounting functions, manage compliance with regulatory standards, and drive strategic financial planning. Your expertise will help us maintain transparency, optimize cash flow, and support sustainable growth within a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence financial strategies and uphold the highest standards of financial management. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting activities including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant standards. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliation and financial statement preparation. Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and monitor liquidity to support operational needs. Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial data. Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis for executive leadership, supporting strategic decision-making. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements. Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations and reporting. Lead budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting activities to promote fiscal responsibility across departments. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or financial management roles with a strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and account analysis. Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance standards such as GAAP, IFRS, SOX, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting if applicable. Proficiency with accounting software like Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or equivalent tools; experience with financial management software is essential. Strong knowledge of cash management practices, balance sheet reconciliation techniques, and account reconciliation procedures. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic insights. Familiarity with payroll processing systems and procedures related to accounts payable/receivable functions. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are preferred but not mandatory.
