Job Summary:
Working in a team and collaborative environment, the Health Benefits/Underwriting Assistant works in our benefit service center that manages our complex program. This position has frequent contact with the sales team and underwriters for new business and renewal processing and helps to prepare quoting documents to submit to the carrier for review. A candidate applying for this position must have experience with medical claims. Duties Prepare quoting documents received from prospects and submit to the carrier for review Support underwriting for data gathering and analysis for quote preparation Scrub health applications for missing information and follow up questions Administrative coordination of document requests and ensure timely receipt of data Work with underwriters and sales team for new business and renewal processing Work with benefits team to obtain supporting documentation Prepare and organize census data, applications, and supporting documentation for quotes Request and track quotes from underwriting and actuaries Review quote submissions for completeness and accuracy Produce quote estimates utilizing rating tool Maintain quote tracking in data management system Prepare spreadsheets, proposals and presentation materials Communication with clients, carriers and members regarding documentation and requests Eligibility verification and enrollment reporting support Maintain compliance with company procedures and confidentiality Support general administrative tasks as needed Attend off-site quarterly meetings and events as needed Review case reports and provide summaries Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Desired Skills Medical claims experience Microsoft Excel experience Good communications skills: experience in customer service, phone communication experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field Knowledge of Salesforce, bSwift, Formfire, MS Word, Office 365, and Point are a plus Impeccable time management skills, ability to prioritize and possesses a proactive work ethic Ability to work in a team environment and the ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and superior organizational abilities Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance
