www.berkleysurety.com Responsibilities About the Role We're seeking a detail‑oriented Surety Underwriting Admin to provide technical, administrative, and underwriting support to our field offices. In this role, you will help manage our bond portfolio, support our underwriters, and ensure our surety processes run smoothly, accurately, and compliantly. This position is perfect for someone who excels in operational support, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. What You'll Do Process new and existing surety business, maintain system records, and support agency inquiries. Set up and update account submissions and bond information in the proprietary system with accuracy and compliance in mind. Prepare bid and final bond (contract or commercial) requests for underwriter review. Ensure all final bond data, premiums, commission details, and documentation are complete and correct. Support pre‑renewal and renewal workflows and partner closely with field underwriters to ensure timely handling of all renewals. Maintain diary systems and produce performance bond reports to assist underwriters in managing their portfolios. Send out Bond Status Inquiries per company standards or at the direction of underwriters. Apply BSG Rating Manuals and rating worksheets to support accurate premium computation and coding. Identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance process efficiency. Research, respond to, and resolve agency billing questions at the bond or agency level. Order credit and Dun & Bradstreet reports needed for underwriting decisions. Assist with incoming mail and perform other administrative or operational duties as assigned. Qualifications What You Bring High School Diploma required. 3+ years of experience in an operational support or customer service role, preferably in insurance, surety, or financial services. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear and professional correspondence. Comfort using standard BSG tools including Word, Excel, email, imaging systems, and underwriting platforms. A self-starter mindset with strong organization skills and the ability to work efficiently with limited supervision. A collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
