Triangle Insurance is looking for an Underwriter Technicia n 1 that is responsible for rating, coding, and keying all policy information into the mainframe system.
Essential Duties Include:
Study, maintain, and uses all rating, coding, and procedures manuals; Enter all policy information into mainframe or rating system and works to meet policy processing workflow guidelines; Study and utilizes insurance manuals, policies, and training materials to become proficient in the lines assigned and to have a working knowledge of other major lines; Develop and maintain systems to monitor guideline compliance and interaction with other departments; Promote positive teamwork between company employees, outside agencies, and others; Work to meet policy processing workflow guidelines; Keep manager informed of problems and problem areas; Order MVRs and provide preliminary analysis to Underwriting; Regular and sustained attendance; Other duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting policy, practices, and procedures, as normally acquired through undergraduate studies or certification in courses such as IIA/CPCU and/or one (1) to three (3) years related business experience; or a combination of education and experience.COMMUNICATIONSKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.REASONINGABILITY
Proven ability to set work priorities that conform to established standards.LICENSINGREQUIREMENTS
Must have or be capable of meeting requirements necessary to secure and maintain an agent's or CSR license for property and casualty insurance.TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to operate basic office machines to include the ability to operate a PC with MS Office software.PHYSICALDEMANDS
