With a strong national presence and 11 branch offices in 10 states, BITCO delivers tailored insurance services to specialized industries including construction, forest products and oil & gas. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with required business travel to BITCO office locations and customer offices.
Position Summary :
Join our Underwriting team as a detail-oriented and dependable administrative professional who plays a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. In this position, you'll provide essential clerical and organizational support to ensure accurate data management, timely processing of policy information, and seamless coordination across teams. Primary Responsibilities:
Handle departmental mail, including preparing, sorting and distributing mail in a timely and effective manner Order and maintain departmental supplies and materials Manually or electronically prepare and maintain lists or other records of data/information; including maintaining and uploading documents accordingly in the electronic underwriting document storage application Prepare and maintain policy renewal listings and distribute to Underwriting Operations team Set up customer files and assign customer numbers in the customer dashboard. Complete various tasks on both new and renewal policies including but not limited to, Experian reports, ordering and scoring Motor Vehicle Records, and completing commission exceptions forms Enter and update information in UPIS for both new and renewal business. Follow up on wage reports, sign and return forms and billing statements to obtain needed information Ensure accuracy of department information, files, reports, and records Prepare memos, letters, reports, documents, lists or other records Efficiently utilize software systems in entering, accessing or retrieving data/information in/from various systems Provide appropriate departmental services for the needs of internal customers Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers Respond timely to inquiries and reporting needs Work in a harmonious manner, accept supervision and directions, and interact in a cooperative manner with supervisors, co-workers, internal customers, and other company personnel Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a professional office setting Basic understanding and application of Microsoft Word and Excel Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral Strong attention to detail Time management skills, with ability to timely and accurately organize, prioritize, and complete responsibilities Must be dependable and able to maintain regular, predictable attendance Ability to work overtime as needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Office environment; this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, as approved by manager Frequently sit at a desk or other work station for extended periods of time Occasionally lift and carry equipment and/or materials weighing up to 15 pounds Routinely bend, kneel, reach, see, be mobile and walk around Must be able to attend and perform job duties effectively both in-person and virtually, as required by manager Travel
