Job Description

Financial Aid Officer Douglas Education Center | Full-Time | On-Site Position Summary Douglas Education Center is seeking a knowledgeable and student-centered Financial Aid Officer to join our growing team. This role is essential to student success and is ideal for someone who enjoys helping students navigate funding options, values compliance and accuracy, and thrives in a collaborative, service-oriented environment. As a Financial Aid Officer, you will guide students through the entire financial aid lifecycle—from application and enrollment through graduation—ensuring they have the resources and support needed to achieve their educational goals. What You'll Do
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to students throughout the financial aid process, from application through graduation
  • Collaborate closely with Admissions, Student Services, the Business Office, and Academic Departments to support a positive student experience
  • Educate students on financial aid options, eligibility requirements, and procedures
  • Package and repackage financial aid awards using standard term credit-hour and non-term methodologies
  • Evaluate and award federal Title IV aid in accordance with eligibility guidelines
  • Administer and award additional funding sources, including veterans' benefits, state grants, and agency funding
  • Maintain accurate and compliant student financial aid files through regular review and documentation Interpret and apply federal, state, agency, and institutional regulations and remain current on policy updates Manage assigned funding sources or specialized aid programs, including reconciliation and reporting Utilize SAINT Director (Global Financial Aid Services) to manage workflow, document tracking, award packaging, and compliance activities Use Campus Management/Anthology systems and Conext CRM for data entry, reporting, and communication Perform additional administrative duties as needed What We're Looking For Prior post-secondary financial aid experience preferred; career school experience a plus Strong working knowledge of Title IV federal student aid regulations Experience with
COD, NSLDS, PHEAA, VA
Enrollment Manager/WEAMS, CPS Online, and SAINT Director Experience working with a Student Information System (SIS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach Education Bachelor's degree preferred
