Duties Perform detailed inspections of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, sensors, and related low voltage electrical components to ensure proper operation and code compliance. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to accurately assess system layouts and installation requirements. Conduct construction inspections for new or existing fire protection installations, verifying adherence to design specifications and safety standards. Test alarm systems, sensors, and electrical circuits using hand tools and power tools to identify issues or deficiencies. Document inspection findings thoroughly, prepare detailed reports, and communicate necessary repairs or adjustments to clients or contractors. Stay current with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code), fire sprinkler fitting practices, and fire alarm sales techniques to provide expert guidance. Qualifications Proven experience in fire alarm inspection, sprinkler fitting, or related construction inspection roles with a strong mechanical background. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and system design documents; familiarity with CAD software is a plus. Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, sensors, alarms, and schematics relevant to fire protection systems. Hands-on experience with field service tasks using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for electrical and mechanical systems. Understanding of NEC standards, fire sprinkler fitting procedures, and fire alarm system sales or service processes. Strong electrical experience combined with construction knowledge; previous service technician experience is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for reporting findings clearly and working effectively with clients or team members.
