Fire Sprinkler Designer (CAD) About the Opportunity Encompass is working with a well-established, fast-growing fire protection firm headquartered in Newark, NJ. With over a decade of steady growth and approximately 200 employees across office and field operations, the company specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of commercial fire sprinkler systems . Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer with strong CAD capabilities and a background in sprinkler system design. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, high-quality system layouts that support efficient field installation and project success. Key Responsibilities Design fire protection sprinkler systems with precision to support seamless field installation Interpret work orders and project requirements to determine system specifications and critical dimensions Develop detailed CAD drawings, including multi-view layouts and system schematics Perform calculations to ensure proper sizing, layout, and system functionality Review and revise drawings to optimize design accuracy and practicality Collaborate with engineering and design teams to implement modifications and improvements Submit plans for internal approval and assist with permitting processes as needed Maintain design documentation and update project databases with revisions Produce final drawings and graphical representations for review and execution Qualifications 5+ years of fire sprinkler design experience (required) Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) Strong understanding of fire protection systems, piping layouts, and installation processes Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret design specifications Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills NICET certification is not required
