Firefighter

The firefighter position will be responsible for responding to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, hazardous materials incidents, and rescue operations. This position requires professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to public safety.

Schedule Minimum Qualifications:

• Georgia State Certified Firefighter
• Firefighter 1 NPQ
• HAZMAT Operations and Awareness Certification
• Georgia Class F license
• Georgia Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

CPR Certification Preferred Qualifications:

• Flammable Liquids and Pressurized Container Certification
• Structural Fire Control Certification
• Crash Victim Extrication Certification

Interior Search and Rescue Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a firefighter and Emergency Response role

Other Requirements:

Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, physical examination, and drug screening Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to perform physically demanding tasks under adverse conditions

Key Responsibilities:

Respond promptly and efficiently to fire alarms, hazardous material incidents, rescue operations, and emergency medical calls Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles safely and effectively Perform search and rescue operations, including crash victim extrication Control and extinguish fires involving structures, flammable liquids, and pressurized containers Provide emergency medical care as an EMT Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities Maintain equipment, apparatus, and fire station facilities Engage in public education and community outreach programs Adherent to departmental policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Physical Demands:

This position requires significant physical exertion, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and working in hazardous environments.

Pay:

$47,000.00 per year
