Job Description

Who are we? Code Ninjas is the nation's fastest-growing kids coding and STEM education franchise. At our centers, kids and teens build confidence, critical thinking skills, and teamwork by exploring robotics, coding, and engineering through hands-on experiences.
Our mission:
Kids have fun, parents see results. Whether they're coding games or programming advanced robots, students are always engaged, growing, and preparing for the future. What are we looking for? We are seeking a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Coach / Instructor to lead, mentor, and support our competitive middle and high school robotics teams. This role is perfect for someone who loves advanced robotics, enjoys working with tech-minded youth, and thrives on mentoring future engineers. You will guide students through the complexities of the FTC season, helping them design, build, program, and strategize their way to competition success. What you'll do: Coach and mentor competitive FTC teams through the official season and offseason training. Guide students in designing and building robust, metal-structured robots utilizing standard FTC-compliant parts and control systems. Support students in advanced programming (Java) for both Auto and TeleOp. Mentor teams on game strategy, documentation (Engineering Portfolio), and presentation skills for competitions. Foster a highly collaborative, inclusive, and respectful team environment centered on FIRST values. Communicate regularly with the Center Manager and parents regarding schedules, competition logistics, and team progress.
What you bring:
Experience working with youth or teens (ages 12-18) in a teaching, coaching, or mentoring capacity. Strong technical familiarity with robotics hardware, electronics, and mechanical engineering concepts. Solid programming foundations (Java preferred) or a strong willingness to learn the FTC software ecosystem. Ability to break down complex engineering and coding principles into structured, student-led milestones. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Reliability, patience, and a passion for competitive STEM education.
Bonus if you have:
Prior experience as an FTC or FRC participant, mentor, or coach. An academic or professional background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. Experience with CAD software (such as Onshape or Fusion 360) for robot design.
