Min. Experience 0 - 1 year The Fisheries Management Area 1 office in Linesville, Crawford County, PA, announces the availability of two paid seasonal positions for the fall/winter/spring 2026/27 field season. These positions are expected to cover 18 pay periods (36 weeks) beginning on August 31, 2026, and ending on May 7, 2027.
Position Description:
These positions will assist Fisheries Management Area 1 staff in collecting angler use and harvest information for the Lake Erie steelhead fishery in Pennsylvania's tributaries. Fieldwork sometimes involves long hours, travel to field survey locations using Commission vehicles, and at times working in inclement weather. The Area 1 office will provide the necessary field equipment and safety apparel (e.g., data sheets, waders, tablet, etc.). Position Title Fisheries Biologist Aide (Creel Clerk)Position Type:

Shifts consist of 7.5 hours per day. Days of the week as well as shift start times (AM/PM) will be randomly assigned according to survey schedule.Supervisor:
Garrett Herigan (Area Fisheries Manager)Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct angler counts and interviews at boat ramps, marinas, and access points along designated routes according to a predetermined survey schedule. Collect fish length data from harvested fish during interviews. Collect and record angler opinion and creel data using electronic or paper data forms. Manage data collected in an organized fashion and supply to supervisor on a weekly basis for quality control.Qualifications:
Our office is seeking two responsible and dependable individuals who meet the following qualifications: Possesses a valid Drivers License. Safely operate equipment, vehicles, and watercraft following agency protocols. Complete background certifications for Child Abuse (Act 153), Criminal History, and FBI fingerprinting.Working Conditions:
Daily travel from the Lake Erie Research Unit office in Fairview to fishing access points within the region. Flexibility in working schedule, including willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
