JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Fitness Center Manager, this position is responsible for assisting clients in safely and effectively obtaining their fitness goals. Personal Trainers work with clients to identify fitness needs and develop and deliver custom training programs based on the clients' goals, capabilities, and needs. The trainer must be a leader, role model, educator, motivator and advisor. Part Time Benefits Part-Time employees receive free membership to our Lifestyles Fitness Center and the Pelican Harbor water park. Part-Time employees receive 30% discount on programs and family members in their household also receive 30% off memberships & programs. Part-Time staff working 520-999.75 hours in the current year, will earn 16 hours of Personal Time Off to use in the following year. Part-Time staff who work 1000+ hours in the current year will earn 32 hours of Personal Time Off to use in the following year. Eligible for mandatory pension plan based on 1000 hours or more worked per year. Free CPR/AED training. Employee Recognition Program Employee payroll portal.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Current CPR/AED certification. Current Personal Training Certification through a nationally recognized professionally accredited provider. Demonstrate history of preparing and delivering public presentations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the effects of exercise on the body. Basic nutrition knowledge. Good communication, teaching and customer service skills. Ability to motivate and treat clients as individuals. Flexible schedule to meet with client's needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITI ES
Recruit clients, selling the benefits of personal training. Adhere to a follow up system to maintain contact with prospects and clients Adhere to industry accepted principles and guidelines for safe and effective program design and implementation with clients. Perform fitness center orientations for new fitness center members Perform fitness evaluations for clients. Design exercise prescriptions based on clients' needs and goals Demonstrate the exercises and ensure that the client is performing the exercises correctly. Conduct safe and effective training sessions with clients. Manage individual client payment process for contracted sessions and follow up with clients to keep them on track for their payment schedule Keep accurate records of participation. Attend staff meetings and trainings. Know and demonstrate knowledge and ability to follow emergency procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Fitness Manager Abide by the Bolingbrook Park District dress code for your area Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District's safety program. Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments.

to instruct and assist clients; be able to demonstrate use of fitness machines & equipment

to help with weights and spot clients with free weight.
COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS
Must have ability to read, write and organize materials. Must be able to relate to other people in a professional manner. FLSA This is a part time hourly, non-exempt position. HOURS Facility is open 7 days a week and the hours will be set by the Fitness Center Manager and further dictated by personal training client's schedule availability.
