Job Description
Position Purpose CRC Evans is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Coating Technician to support pipeline coating operations on domestic and international projects. This role is responsible for preparing pipe surfaces, operating specialized coating equipment, and applying protective coating systems to required project specifications. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on field experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in demanding environments while supporting high-quality project delivery. Role specific responsibilities
- Foster a positive HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) culture within CRC Evans company and client premises.
- Operate under the guidance and direction of the CRC Evans coating supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to approved project planning parameters at all times.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using coating equipment and associated hand tools required for the task.
- Follow instructions meticulously from the CRC coating supervisor.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all relevant parties throughout the project.
- Ensure all equipment necessary for coating operations is well-maintained and in good working condition.
- Recognize and mitigate hazards related to pipe movement, machinery in the task area, and coating equipment.
- Keep the work area safe, orderly, and clean at all times.
- Familiarize oneself with and strictly adhere to all CRC Evans/Site QHSE project procedures
- Execute duties safely and efficiently, in accordance with Company QHSE policies.
- All other duties assigned, as appropriate
Job Specific Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of relevant CRC Evans FJC training modules
- Valid offshore medical suitable for geographical area of work (if required)
- Valid offshore survival course suitable for geographical area of work (if required)
Work Experience Required:
- Prior experience working on a pipeline, preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical and engineering procedures and processes, preferred
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Ability to travel worldwide for undetermined periods of time
- Ability to work in varied environments and climates
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills Demonstrated ability to retain knowledge to acquire additional skills and maintain technical competencies.
- Performed abrasive blasting using blast grit to prepare pipe surfaces to required cleanliness standards (e.g., SA 2.5 / NACE standards).
- Applied Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coatings using automated and manual spray systems.
- Operated IMPP Machine for Polypropylene (PP) multi-layer coating systems.
- Applied Polyurethane coatings for corrosion protection and durability.
- Monitored coating thickness and ensured compliance with project specifications.
- Conducted inspections including holiday detection and visual quality checks.
- Maintained coating equipment and ensured proper operation of ovens, extruders, and spray systems.
- Followed strict safety procedures and contributed to a safe working environment.
Pay:
$25.00- $30.
