Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Flare Technician to join our dynamic team in the energy or manufacturing sector. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing flare systems used for safe combustion of mine gases. Your expertise will ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of flare equipment, supporting environmental compliance and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge industrial systems, including electrical controls, sensors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), in a fast-paced environment that values safety, precision, and proactive maintenance. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on flare systems, including calibration of sensors and vision inspection systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as high voltage and low voltage systems, utilizing schematics, AutoCAD drawings, and calibration tools. Maintain mechanical systems associated with flare operations to ensure optimal performance. Use precision measuring instruments like ohmmeters and calibration tools to diagnose issues accurately. Conduct field service activities involving industrial electrician tasks, sensor replacements, and system upgrades within programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to facilitate repairs or modifications in accordance with safety standards. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize flare system performance while adhering to environmental regulations. Support commissioning, startup, shutdown procedures, and emergency response activities related to flare operations. Document maintenance activities thoroughly using computerized maintenance management systems. Ability to load and haul nitrogen and propane tanks to vendors for filling and distribution to jobsites. Ability to maintain sites in neat and orderly, including vegetation and weed control. Must have or be willing to complete and maintain MSHA certification. Must have dependable truck to access sites and maintain duties (mileage paid) Onsite training provided Experience Proven experience working as an industrial electrician or maintenance technician within manufacturing or energy sectors. Strong background in mechanical systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and vision inspection systems. Hands-on experience with schematics interpretation . Knowledge of safety protocols related to high voltage, low voltage, and industrial maintenance environments.

From $65,000.00 per year
