Purpose:
The Fleet Manager oversees maintenance operations, technicians, and inventory to minimize machine downtime and ensure efficient repairs. Key responsibilities include leading repair teams, managing parts inventory, budgeting, and ensuring customer service.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of company fleet including heavy-duty trucks, CDL vehicles, trailers, and specialized oilfield equipment Track fleet utilization, availability, and performance metrics Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs Coordinate repairs with internal shop personnel and external vendors Ensure timely servicing to reduce downtime and extend equipment life Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations Maintain accurate records for inspections, registrations, and certifications Support company safety initiatives and enforce fleet safety standards Monitor and control fuel usage, maintenance costs, and overall fleet expenses Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or performance Manage relationships with parts suppliers, repair vendors, and leasing companies Oversee inventory of parts, tools, and consumables Utilize fleet management software and telematics systems Generate reports on fleet efficiency, maintenance schedules, and compliance status Work closely with shop supervisors, mechanics, and field operations teams Provide leadership and direction to fleet-related personnel All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of fleet management experience (oil & gas or heavy equipment preferred) Strong knowledge of CDL fleet operations, DOT regulations, and compliance requirements Experience managing maintenance programs for heavy-duty diesel equipment

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere Ability to proficiently utilize the programs with the Microsoft Office Suite Ability to be a highly motivated, self-starter Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations Ability to assess and quickly solve problem Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Possess strong communication skills Possess sound mechanical knowledge Possess strong negotiation and purchasing skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required PPE includes but is not limited to: hard hat, task specific safety glasses, life vest, respirators, task specific hearing protection, task specific safety shoes (steel toe or metatarsal), and /or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and may change based on the location in which the work is being completed Ability to walk, step, climb, and otherwise move from one location on the job site to another Depending on equipment in use, the chosen candidate must be able to physically get into and get out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10' or more in height Ability to visually see worksite environment and observe equipment operations (either naturally or with corrective lenses) Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and sit for long periods of time Ability to complete repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work Ability to climb vertical ladders. Working at elevated heights Ability to lift up to and including fifty (50) lb. objects as required Ability to carry up to and including fifty (50) lb. objects as required Ability to adapt to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to the elements Ability to work outdoors in all-weather conditions
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid state issued driver's license required OSHA 30 certification preferred

Travel required on an is needed basis
