Job Description
Hay Creek Express, a trucking company located in Central Wisconsin, is looking for a motivated mechanic to maintain its fleet of semi-tractors and trailers. The mechanic will inspect trucks, trailers, and related equipment to locate and determine the extent of the necessary repair and complete those repairs in a timely matter. They will also perform annual vehicle and trailer inspections. Responsibilities Inspect trucks, trailers, and other equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repairs. Perform necessary repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime. Perform preventive maintenance work on semi-tractors and vehicles, including lubrication and oil changes and other routine maintenance items. Perform repair work on gasoline and diesel-powered engines and other equipment. Inspect and adjust brakes, valves, hoses, belts, and replace any necessary parts. Perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles and trailers. Welding experience. Maintain a well-kept work area. Assist in the inventory management of shop consumables, critical spare parts, tires, and other parts as needed Qualifications Must be dependable.
Education:
High school or general education diploma (GED).Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in tractor/trailer maintenance or equivalent automotive / light truck experience. Certified to perform DOT Annual Vehicle Inspections (AVI).Adaptability:
The individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and priorities, and is able to deal with changes and unexpected events.Skills:
Demonstrates critical thinking, proactive, and problem-solving skills. Strong diagnostic skills. Able to diagnose and fix electrical issues.Communication:
Good oral and written communication skills.Work Ethics:
Must have good work ethic. Willingness to stay late to complete a job. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests throughout employment. Must be available to work Monday to Thursday as well as a flexible Friday schedule. First shift- days
- (5 am to 3 pm or 6 am to 4 pm). Must be able to work well with fellow team members. Have the characteristics of an ideal team player and be humble, hungry, and smart. Compensation $25
