Job Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with global operations in 6 countries and serves customers in almost 60 countries. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary :
This position is to support the Bristol Bay Fleet team and Alaska Construction team. Directly involved in implementation of the Trident Seafoods fish buying strategy through supporting good relations with the fishing fleet. Must be able to be on-call throughout the year, work long shifts, sometimes night shift and ability to travel throughout the Alaska plants.
Summary:
This position is to support the Bering Sea Fleet team. Directly involved in implementation of the Trident Seafoods fish buying strategy through supporting good relations with the fishing fleet. Must be able to be on-call throughout the year, work long shifts, sometimes night shift. Assists in managing fleet relations, hiring fleet, developing competitive grounds prices, quality incentive programs, preseason/long term fishermen loans, community relations and broadcasting of pertinent information to the fleet. Assists in managing the fishing and tender fleet in season. This includes strategy and movement of tenders in accordance with directed openings, tracking the amount of fish purchased daily, determining location of tender deliveries, tracking ADFG openings and communicating with various biologists to asses run timing and forecast data in and out of season. Communicates with fleet regularly to ensure Trident is providing appropriate service and support. Communication and coordination to ensure maximum efficiency on the grounds and at the production level. Assists plant production staff with tender offload and location scheduling, tracking fleet production and capacity, product mix, production rates and freight. Other duties as assigned Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska. Required Qualifications:
(Education, Years of Experience, Certifications) A minimum of two years' experience in the fishing industry, preferably with commercial fishing experience. High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education & Experiences:
Understanding of fishing vessels and basic mechanics, and Alaska maritime industry. Experience managing fleet operations is preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects regularly up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
