A&P Aircraft Mechanic•
Piston Training Fleet, Central Texas Location:
Georgetown, TX Employment Type:
Full-Time, 5 days a week About Client A well-run flight training organization operating a modern single-engine piston fleet at high volume. Aircraft that aren't airworthy don't fly—and the maintenance team is the direct reason training stays on schedule, safe, and consistent day after day.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$35
  • 40/hour — Based on experience and qualifications
Starting Bonus:
$1,000 sign-on bonus
Relocation Assistance:
Available depending on the candidate
Shift:
10-hour shifts; day and night shifts available

Best suited for an A&P who works with initiative, holds themselves to regulatory standards without being reminded, and takes genuine pride in the work leaving their hands. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on piston-powered GA training aircraft from start to signed-off return to service Troubleshoot, inspect, and repair aircraft discrepancies in compliance with FAA regulations, approved data, and company procedures Work from maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives to get every job done to standard Write up aircraft logbook entries and maintenance records that are thorough, legible, and audit-ready Run a tight, clean, safety-conscious shop—your workspace reflects the standard you hold your work to Coordinate with the rest of the maintenance team and operational staff to keep the fleet available and the schedule protected Reshuffle the task list when aircraft availability or training schedules demand it—without losing track of what still needs to get done Take day or night shift assignments as the operation requires; coverage gaps aren't an option Minimum Requirements Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate in good standing (required) At least 3 years of recent, hands-on A&P experience on piston-powered GA aircraft—Piper, Diamond, Cirrus, or similar Flight school or training fleet background strongly preferred Confident, working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91 Operates independently and makes airworthiness determinations with conviction Proficient in Microsoft Office; at ease picking up maintenance tracking software on the job Available for day or night shifts as the schedule requires Able to lift up to 50 lbs; tolerates extended periods of standing, bending, and kneeling Works comfortably around active aircraft, fuels, solvents, and shop tools indoors and outdoors How to Apply At Rio Staffing , we specialize in connecting skilled professionals with well-run organizations and high-quality programs.
