Job Description
Floater Teacher 110 South London Street, Mount Sterling, OH 43143 From $11 an hour - Full-time From $11 an hour - Full-time Job Overview The Floater provides the children with developmentally appropriate activities, provides a nurturing environment, and interacts with the children, their parents, staff members, and volunteers. Duties Room coverage at lunch and other times when necessary Maintain classroom control, management, and sanitation Provide a normal routine by maintaining daily schedule adherence Must keep the Director informed concerning staff members, children, and parental issues Maintaining the Center's policies and procedures Attend ongoing trainings Additional duties as needed Decision making authority: The Floater must adhere to the policies and procedures of FUMC Child Care Center. He/she is responsible for classroom safety and sanitation. The Floater must be able to maintain a friendly/professional rapport with the staff and parents. The Floater is responsible for supporting and implementing all the decisions made by management. The Floater must notify the Director of any limitations he/she may have to perform the essential functions of the job. The Floater is encouraged to ask questions whenever unsure of a policy. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
- High energy and the ability to foster a team environment and work well with others (staff, children, parents)
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse & Neglect training
- Complete orientation within 30 days of hire
- Complete Ohio's Approach to Quality and Ohio's Overview of Child Development within 30 days of hire
- Complete 20 hours of professional development over 2 years
- Must clear a full background check and must pass health screening Verification shall be on file on or before the first day of employment.
Physical Requirements:
Demonstrate a full range of motion. Be able to lift 40lbs. Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
