Auto Cast Inc. is a privately held premier high pressure die casting manufacturer specializing in Aluminum and Zinc products. We are a
IATF 16949
certified tier one supplier to the automotive industry as well as the furniture, marine, consumers goods, plumbing, gaming and security market industries! Auto Cast is seeking a reliable, detail oriented person to add to the quality department. This is a 2nd shift position, ideal for a self-motivated problem solver!Overview:
The Floor Inspector will evaluate the materials, parts and die cast process in order to ensure company and customer standards are met. This will be done through visual inspections and taking precise measurements using inspection and gauging equipment. As a Floor Inspector, you are the front line to safeguarding the Auto Cast brand by preventing unsafe or defective parts from reaching our customers. Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs and documents inspection duties for pieces over the course piece production, including inspection of raw materials, first piece, in-process casts, and post secondary machining. Use calibrated tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges to ensure dimensional requirements are met. Performs tests procedures such as X-ray and spectrograph to identify defective items. Identify, document and segregate non-conforming or defective items to prevent them from advancing through the production process. Communicating with all levels of personnel, including training on quality standards, process changes, or anything affecting quality. Logs and documents inspection results, generates quality reports and maintains records for management review. Work cooperatively with others in a team environment, including helping other departments with tasks when the need arises. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment, adhering to all safety policies and practices, as well as work rules and regulations. Any other duties that may be assigned.Skills and Requirements:
Possess good physical stamina and coordination; Specific physical requirements include: Able to bend, twist, push, pull, reach, kneel and crouch repetitiously. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time required Ability to repeatedly lift 20 pounds repeatedly, and occasionally lift materials up to 50 lbs. Able to wear necessary PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, bump cap, long sleeves and steel toes safety shoes. Able to see clearly both near and far, distinguish colors, perceive depth and adjust focus as necessary. Able to use hands to grip/grasp parts, devices and measuring tools Proficient with measuring instruments, blueprint reading and basic statistical process control (SPC).
