Flower shop assistance/designer

Job Summary Join our vibrant floral boutique as a Flower Shop Assistance and Designer! In this dynamic role, you will start out learning the protocol of the day to day tasks of the flower shop including processing flowers, maintaining shop environment and keeping order to the shop. You will be assisting customers with their floral needs, designing stunning arrangements, and maintaining an inviting shop environment. Your enthusiasm for flowers, gardening, and customer service will help create memorable experiences for every visitor. Whether you're helping clients select the perfect bouquet or crafting intricate floral displays, your energy and attention to detail will make a lasting impression. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in floral design, retail sales, and horticulture while working in a lively, supportive team environment. Duties Assist customers in selecting flowers, plants, and related products, providing friendly and knowledgeable service Design and create beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate events Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, including stocking shelves and arranging displays Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and inventory management Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, updating stock levels, and merchandising products effectively Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about floral care, gardening tips, and product availability Collaborate with team members to ensure the shop runs smoothly during busy hours and special events Requirements An excellent work ethic and Passion for flowers, gardening, horticulture, and floral design with a creative flair Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred but not required Basic organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain an attractive store layout Knowledge of floral design techniques or willingness to learn new skills on the job Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math concepts Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as lifting flower buckets or display materials Join us if you're eager to grow your expertise in floral artistry while delivering exceptional service in a lively retail environment!
