Job Description

Tri-Valley Haven is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and poverty. For over four decades, we have provided services that empower, inspire, and promote independence. Join us in making a difference in the lives of those we serve. We are currently seeking a Food Pantry driver.
General Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director of Homeless Services and Family Support Services, the food pantry driver coordinates daily grocery pick-ups for Tri-Valley Haven's Food Pantry. This position is responsible for the collection, processing, and distribution of in-kind donations and food for the Food Pantry.
General Requirements:
High School required. Customer Service skills required. Ability to manage time and tasks effectively. Knowledge of violence against women and children, and homelessness. A CA Driver's License and a clean motor vehicle record is required.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY I. TVH RESOURCE MANAGEMENT A.
Coordinate pick-up of food and other items for the Food Pantry. Keep facility free of clutter and unsorted donations. B. For the grocery rescue component of the Food Pantry, responsible for picking up approximately 30,000 pounds of food donations per month for distribution to clients experiencing food insecurity. C Assists with unloading and weighing food donations. Assists with sorting and shelving donated food. Assist clients during food distribution.
II. GENERAL TASKS
- Performs general tasks as needed and represents Tri-Valley Haven in a professional manner. Tasks included, but are not limited to: A. Attend meetings as required. B. Assists with TVH special events as required by Director Homeless Services and Family Support Services. C. Have a valid California driver's license and an insured automobile that employee will use as necessary for agency related business. D. Must maintain a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in order to be able to drive for the agency.
III. OTHER TASKS AS ASSIGNED BY THE OFFICE MANAGER AND/OR THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WITHIN THE SCOPE OF TRI-VALLEY HAVEN'S MISSION. IV. ADA ESSENTIAL TASKS A.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. B. Bend and kneel C. Walk and stand D. Sitting E. Manual dexterity and strength F. Good communication skills G. Specific knowledge or education H. Learning ability I. Operation of motor vehicles J. Good close-up vision K. Good distance vision L. Reasoning and thinking skills M. Ability to problem solve N. Gloves or hand protection O. Eye protection P. Working alone Q. Working in emergency situations R.
