Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Juvenile Justice Location 2420 Roberts Drive Ashland, KY 41102 USA Description The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice is a multi-faceted agency that serves juveniles of the Commonwealth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervises the preparation of food and provides general cooking in a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility. Prepares food and provides general cooking. Prepares menus, consults with nutritionist and other professional contacts. Maintains records of amount of food served and number served. Prepares all forms for federal school lunch program. Maintains records for government commodities received and used; provides forms to the Department of Agriculture. Provides instructional kitchen skills to juveniles assigned to kitchen duties. Ensures proper supervision of juveniles. Prepares food requisitions and maintains food inventories. Maintains logs and inventory books on received or used foods and supplies. Maintains routine records for daily costs of meals. Maintains and reports attendance on juveniles for federal programs. Ensures new food items are received, checked, dated and stored properly. This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations by the Appointing Authority; therefore, the incumbent is not eligible for Adverse Weather Leave. Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION
High school graduate.EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
