Location Description:
Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than 750 team members. The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and is home to 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products our customers know and love. Northfield is a town steeped in history, featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company got its start.
Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Food Safety Coordinator maintains the documentation critical for the Quality Systems, HACCP, Food Safety Plans and SQF Programs throughout the Chaska facility. This position work in cooperation with Food Safety and Quality Supervisor and the Food Safety Quality Manager to assists with verifying that programs are being executed properly and develops and conducts training programs. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and maintain the routine paperwork such as those related to the regulatory, food safety / HACCP Plan, sanitation, SQF Audit, Food Defense Program, GMP programs and customer specific documentation. Be an active member of the HACCP / Food Safety Team. Perform and co-lead the internal audits program. Monitor and update corrective action database. Assist with developing and conducting training programs for employees related to HACCP, SQF, GMP's, etc. Review and create SOP's and SSOP's working closely with plant quality and sanitation teams. Assist FSQ Supervisor and provide back up for QA Techs when needed. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace environment. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Required to work some off shifts (Sanitation hours), weekends, and holidays as needed to conduct sanitation audits, and training.
Qualifications:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Two (2) years' experience in a food processing environment Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Mathematics abilities to include ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Basic understanding of statistical process control. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
