Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Food Handling Certificate or ability to obtain one High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Current Illinois Driver's License Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull food items, carts, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. -Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment physical, fingerprint-based background check, and Employment History Review.

Director of Food Service & Assistant Food Service Director
JOB GOAL
Ensure the seamless operation of the district's food program by overseeing the secure transport, organized storage, and punctual delivery of food and equipment to all school sites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operates a district vehiclewith a lift gate to transport food, supplies, and equipment to school sites according to set schedules. Manages the stable loading and unloading of goods to prevent damage. Inspects vendor deliveries for accuracy and quality; reports discrepancies. Pulls, labels, and prepares daily orders for distribution. Adheres to HACCP guidelines, food safety standards, and School Nutrition Program requirements. Maintains proper food storage temperatures and FIFO rotation. Performs routine inspections, fueling, and cleaning of district vehicle. Maintains organized and sanitary dry storage, coolers, and freezers. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions. Works independently to manage time and communicatesdelivery issues professionally. Assists in school kitchens during staffing shortages or emergencies as needed. Maintains a high level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or district office administrators.

The responsibilities may include other duties as assigned, as the responsibilities listed above represent a majority of the tasks, though not an exhaustive list.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Part-time, up to 30 hours per week on school days when children are in attendance. Institute days as requested by the administration.
Pay:
$18.20 - $18.80 per hour
