Become a vital part of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as a Seasonal Forest Maintenance Worker. This position gives you the chance to work in the fresh air while building practical maintenance experience. You will support forest operations that keep recreation areas safe and accessible. This position helps maintain forest roads, trails, boundaries, buildings, and natural areas throughout the district. As a Seasonal Forest Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:Road Maintenance:
Clear culverts, remove debris, and maintain roadside vegetationTree and Fence Work:
Plant trees, maintain deer fences, and support regeneration projectsTrail Care:
Operate equipment and tools to groom trails, clear brush, and mark trail routesBuilding Upkeep:
Assist with painting, roofing, concrete work, and general facility maintenanceEquipment Operation:
Use tractors, ATVs, chainsaws, and woodworking tools for assigned tasksFire Support:

Seasonal, full-time employment with not health care benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027. Overtime may be required for emergencies. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch, Off FridayTelework:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.Conditions of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.Other Requirements:
