Job Title:

Forklift Operator (Stand-Up) Job Description This role involves operating a stand-up forklift to support daily warehouse operations, including stocking, pulling customer orders, and preparing products for shipment. You will work in a clean, temperature-controlled environment and use basic warehouse technology to ensure accurate inventory handling and efficient order fulfillment. Responsibilities Operate a stand-up forklift safely and efficiently to move, stock, and organize materials throughout the warehouse. Pull and stage customer orders accurately based on pick lists or electronic instructions. Prepare shipments by packing, labeling, and organizing products for outbound delivery. Use RF scanners, scan guns, and computer systems to track inventory, verify orders, and complete documentation. Perform general production and general labor tasks as needed to support overall warehouse operations. Handle materials manually, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling products and equipment within specified weight limits. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and completed tasks through proper documentation. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating forklifts and handling materials. Use basic hand tools as needed for packing, assembly, or other warehouse-related tasks. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience operating a stand-up forklift. Proven experience in stocking and pulling orders in a warehouse or similar environment. Hands-on experience preparing shipments, including packing and staging outbound orders. Ability to use computers for basic data entry, inventory tracking, and documentation. Proficiency with RF scanners and scan guns for inventory and order processing. Strong material handling skills, including safe lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of products. Ability to sit and/or stand for the duration of the shift. Ability to frequently reach at waist level and occasionally reach above head level. Ability to carry up to 10 pounds and lift up to 45 pounds. Ability to frequently push, pull, bend, kneel, and stoop during normal job duties. Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing general production and general labor tasks in a warehouse or distribution setting. Comfort using warehouse technology such as RF scanners, scan guns, and basic computer applications. Attention to detail and accuracy when pulling orders, packing, and documenting inventory. Work Environment You will work in a clean, temperature-controlled warehouse environment that remains comfortable throughout the year. The position requires the ability to stand or sit for an entire shift and to perform frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and stooping. You will regularly lift up to 45 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds while handling materials. No specific personal protective equipment requirements are noted. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
