Richmond, IN 47374 What You'll Be Doing We're hiring immediately for a Forklift Operator role in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The
MHE OPERATOR
works with minimum supervision and as part of a team to receive, inspect, pick, re-work, inventory, document, load, and ship unitized and non-unitized products. This position requires a combination of manual labor and extensive use of industrial equipment (e.g. forklift, electric pallet jack, stretch-wrapper, pallet inverter, etc.).
A MHE OPERATOR
must maintain a commitment to safety, strong math skills, and the ability to use computer equipment such as RF barcode scanners, computers, and printers.
Responsibilities may include:
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Repeatedly manually lifts materials with a weight of 45 lbs. from ground level to a height of 43 inches from the ground. Operates a lift truck for more than 10 hours per day. Applies stretch-wrap from ground level and above shoulder level under, over, or around unitized skids, and boxes. Operates a lift truck in a backwards direction by twisting in the direction of travel on a continual basis. Inspects, audits, inventories, and order checks product. Reads and retains information contained in written standard operating procedures (SOP's). Moves levers and controls to drive powered lift trucks and transports materials between different transport locations. Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment. Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Performs all other duties as assigned or needed. Material Handler Functional Categories Function categories often describe certain Material Handler positions; however, all material handlers will be expected to learn and have proficiency in each function category. More duties may be assigned upon hire.
What You'll Need Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Experience:
One (1) to two (2)s year related experience in warehouse environment.
Computer Skills:
Basic scanner technology. Additional Information 1st shift, 2nd shift and 3rd shifts available 6:00pm - 6:00am, rotating shifts (2, 2, 3) We also have another opportunity of 8 hours for those that cannot work the 12 hour shifts. No experience is required for the forklift.
