Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Forklift Operator, where you will play a crucial role in preparing and managing palletized orders for outbound truckload shipments. This position offers a blend of forklift operation and material handling, ensuring a smooth and efficient shipping process in a brand-new facility. Responsibilities Prepare palletized orders for outbound truckload shipment. Document outgoing goods by weighing, measuring, and photographing all outgoing pallets. Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring outgoing orders are efficiently built to withstand LTL shipments with no visible damage. Maintain inventory supplies to ensure adequate levels and prevent shortages. Organize products to ensure easy management of First In/First Out inventory processes. Follow safety protocols and report any issues to mitigate safety concerns. Safely operate various pieces of equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Utilize a continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Stock shelves and racks with new or transferred merchandise and maintain organization. Conduct continual quality control tests. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area by sweeping and removing trash daily. Prepare products for small parcel shipments, such as UPS. Perform other duties as assigned, including value-added services. Essential Skills Experience in forklift operation and material handling. Strong organizational skills for inventory management. Ability to follow safety protocols and report issues. Proficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in using RF scanners and handling shipping and receiving processes. Ability to perform general labor tasks, order picking, packaging, and unloading. The facility maintains variable temperature control with climate-controlled offices and high-tech zones, while production floors and loading docks are influenced by outdoor weather. Strict safety compliance is enforced due to the presence of heavy automated machinery and steel tanks. The atmosphere is disciplined and procedure-driven, largely influenced by a veteran workforce, and emphasizes collaboration. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with two paid 15-minute breaks and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break. Overtime is infrequent but available occasionally. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Andrews, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
