Forklift Operator

Overview Forklift operators drive industrial trucks and specialize in warehouse and material yard transportation. Their primary responsibilities includeloading and unloading material, optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency and preventing damage to materials and/or vehicles. Additionally, Forklift operators will inspect the product load for accuracy and completeness and ensure that the material is delivered to its destination safely. The incumbent will also, ensure that stacks in the yard are maintained and kept in an orderly and safe manner. Responsibilities Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances. Utilize three-point mount and dismount technique in a safe and appropriate manner when entering or exiting the vehicle. Requires regular, consistent, and timely attendance on an on-going basis. Ensure that stacks are maintained and kept in an orderly and safe manner. Requires safe behaviors with no near-misses, incidents or accidents on a consistent and on-going basis. Wears appropriate PPE as required. Qualifications Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including order pickers, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and cranes. Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes. Ability to perform order picking tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Physical stamina to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
