Forklift Operator

The purpose of this position is to ship, receive, unpack, pack, inspect and store raw materials and finished goods in a manufacturing and warehouse environment based on a predetermined schedule of production and customer orders.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains organization of raw materials and finished goods in accordance to company specifications.
• Ship, receive, unpack, pack, inspect and store raw materials and finished goods in proper organized manner.
• Responsible for the movement of freight, stock and other materials by use of hand jack or fork lift within the warehouse, to the manufacturing process and storage WIP areas.
• Works closely with customer service to pull and prepare customer orders for shipping.
• Interprets production schedule to determine material needs.
• Accurately accounts for inventory by completing proper documentation and/or computer programs.
• Able to use and work with hand held scanner systems.
• Able to input data and read data from a PC.
• Can work with minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Educational/Skills Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 plus years of forklift, warehouse or materials experience
• Prior forklift certification
• Ability to use motorized and manual hand jacks. Shrink-wrap machines, banders etc.
• Efficient in the use of computers.
• Prior knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle a plus.

Work is typically performed in a plant operations environment, requires frequent walking from department to department, some stair climbing, and requires repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, sitting, standing and maneuvering in order to complete duties of the position. Hand/eye coordination is used to operate motorized lift equipment as well as pc keyboard and related office and warehouse equipment.
