Full-time Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an proficient carpenter/framer to join our woodworking department, preferably with experience building furniture. The ideal candidate will be able to plan ahead based on workload in order to adhere to deadlines, have excellent problem solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work cooperatively with the members of other departments in order to fabricate and assemble custom booths and furniture. In essence, this role requires a unison of great time management, woodworking finesse, creativity, and teamwork to deliver high quality seating solutions for our customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Planning and/or
Design:
Interpret production forms and plan your workflow. This process is often the most important step and includes communicating with the office or other departments in order to establish the most efficient way to construct what the client needs. When there are a lot of orders, you will be expected to be able to work on multiple orders at once by pre-cutting parts on one day and assembling them the next (based on your own planning and judgement). 2.
Material Selection and Preparation:
Select appropriate lumber, plywood, particle boards, and other materials needed for construction. This sometimes includes designing templates for future ease-of-use. 3.
Fabrication:
Cut and assemble the relevant parts for the furniture. 4.
Quality Inspection:
Ensure all aspects of the construction is sound and notify the upholstery department to begin their processes.
  • Due to the flammable nature of the materials we work with, we ask all employees to ensure their stations are safe and clean prior to and throughout their shifts.
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a carpenter, preferably in a custom woodworking or furniture fabrication role.
  • Proficiency in reading or designing blueprints, technical drawings, or templates.
  • Being able to plan ahead and schedule your own workload.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, joinery methods, and finishing processes.
  • The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, precision, and craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication skills to properly coordinate operations with coworkers.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and/or a reliable transportation method.
