Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, guest-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Klamath Falls, OR. The Front Desk Agent is the first and last impression our guests have of this hotel. You're not just checking people in — you're setting the standard for their entire stay. This role requires someone who can think on their feet, handle multiple tasks at once, and treat every guest like they matter, whether it's their first visit or their fiftieth. You'll have a consistent primary schedule, but we're a small team and we need people who can flex to cover the other shift when someone's out or when the hotel needs it. If you can only work one shift and never the other, this isn't the right fit.Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Front Desk Operations:
Check guests in and out efficiently and accurately, verifying identification and payment, assigning rooms, and programming key cards. Answer all incoming calls, respond to guest inquiries, and make reservations using the ChoiceADVANTAGE
property management system. Handle guest complaints and service recovery on the spot — don't wait for someone else if you can solve it yourself. Process payments, post charges, and reconcile your cash drawer at the start and end of every shift. Manage the Choice Privileges loyalty program — enroll guests, apply points, and answer questions about the program. Coordinate with housekeeping to track room status, manage early check-ins and late check-outs, and handle room moves. Know the local area — restaurants, directions, attractions, medical facilities — so you can answer guest questions without Googling everything.Administrative & Communication:
Review the daily arrivals list and prepare for incoming reservations, noting special requests, VIPs, and loyalty members. Maintain the front desk logbook — document shift activity, guest issues, maintenance needs, and anything the next shift needs to know. Process wake-up calls, handle mail and packages, and manage the lost and found log. Communicate maintenance issues, housekeeping concerns, and guest feedback to management the same day.Property & Security:
Keep the front desk area, lobby, and common spaces clean and presentable at all times. On morning shifts, assist with breakfast area monitoring and lobby upkeep during peak hours. On swing shifts, act as the primary point of contact for guest issues and property security during the evening. Perform periodic walks of the property to ensure everything is in order. Follow all hotel safety and emergency procedures.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with the ChoiceADVANTAGE
Property Management System is a major plus, but we will train the right candidate. Strong computer skills — you'll be working with the PMS, email, and basic office software every shift. Ability to handle cash accurately and reconcile transactions. Excellent communication skills — in person and on the phone. Ability to work independently and make good judgment calls when management isn't on site. Must be available to work both morning and swing shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (luggage assistance, supply restocking).Benefits:

Full-time Pay:

Are you able to do that? A guest approaches the front desk visibly upset, saying their room wasn't cleaned and they've been traveling all day. Housekeeping has already left for the evening. What do you do? You're in the middle of checking in a guest when the phone rings, another guest is waiting in line, and a third guest is asking you a question about restaurants nearby. How do you handle all three? Have you ever used a hotel property management system (any brand)? If yes, which one? If no, describe your comfort level learning new software. What does good hospitality mean to you? Give a specific example from a past job where you went beyond what was expected for a customer.Work Location:
