POSITION SUMMARY
At Ma Bahuchar Hospitality's Garner by IHG Hotel, we want to make our guests' experience truly memorable! From the moment they enter the building, the friendly faces at the front desk provide complete guest satisfaction! We are currently looking for a Guest Service Representative with a warm, welcoming spirit to work at our hotel. As a Guest Service Representative, your responsibility is to come to work prepared to welcome every guest, anticipate their needs, and create a personalized experience that they remember so they keep coming back! Our goal is to deliver unique and memorable experiences for everyone who visits our hotel while maintaining the best work environment for our team!
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
Greet and register guests, issue room keys, provide room upgrades and upsells, and provide welcome amenities to eligible guests. Acknowledge loyalty status and enroll guests in the loyalty program. Answer phones and use various online platforms to communicate with guests. Check availability, create, confirm, and cancel reservations. Accurately check out guests and communicate departures with housekeeping staff. Accurately post and collect payment for room charges, pet fees, and market purchases. Become an expert in hotel services and the local area. Resolve guest issues and use feedback to increase satisfaction. Be present and attend the front desk when people are in the lobby. Route calls to rooms or other departments and set wake-up calls. Obtain sales lead information and pass along information for follow-up. Each person on our team is an important part of our sales strategy and empowered to make sales. Continuously monitor Digital Check-in platform for updates and prepare and address special requests for VIP arrivals. Maintain and store lost and found items, contact owner for retrieval. Ensure safety and security by following key security and guest privacy rules. Maintain and log details in the shift log and other platforms to ensure communication between shifts and maintain the guest record. Thoroughly inspect rooms upon housekeeping departure and make corrections as needed. Set room status to clean. Wash, dry, and fold laundry and ensure it is complete. We do not allow laundry to roll over to the next business day. Act as the primary point of contact during crisis and make decisions pertaining to safety and security of others. Print reports and submit for manager review. Other duties as assigned by your manager, including cleaning public areas, performing property security walks, helping with breakfast, and covering shifts as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred. 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar field preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
Flexibility - while we try to maintain a regular schedule, nights, weekends, and holiday shifts are all part of the job. Ability to stand for most of the shift. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and crawl on occasion. Must be able to carry or lift items up to 50 pounds. Ability to speak, read, and write in English; bilingual or multilingual to include Spanish preferred. Ability to use and navigate various applications on an iPad and computer and perform basic math and cash counting. Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure environments with little to no supervision. Ability to anticipate, prevent, and solve problems proactively.
