Job Description
The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) is an independent, Christ-centered college preparatory school serving students in PreK through 12th grade. With over 25 years of strong history and a clear vision for the future, TWCA is leading the way for Christian education in The Woodlands Texas area.

M-F (7:30AM-4:00PM) Position Purpose The Front Desk Receptionist provides support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the department in fulfilling the mission, vision, and ends goals of The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA). Essential Functions Coordinate the efficient execution of office operations using effective planning, interpersonal, and organization skills. Serve as Woodland Christian's initial impression in every opportunity to interact with individuals by phone or by direct contact. Create and maintain a cheerful, professional, clean, secure, and organized entrance, foyer, and reception area for students, faculty, vendors, and visitors. Stand, smile, introduce yourself by name, and warmly acknowledge each guest entering the reception area. Keep current a receptionist binder for a substitute in the event of absence. Answer and transfer internal and external phone calls to appropriate faculty and staff. Call teachers to dismiss students for early release (appointments, parent request, etc.)Universal Phone Acknowledgement:
"Good Morning. You've reached The Woodlands Christian Academy. This is "name". How may I help you"? Manage and upkeep all staff extension lists. Email students and/or teachers to collect belongings dropped off at the front desk. Securely process all guests, vendors, deliveries, and contractors through Raptor. Protect and enforce all safety expectations the Director of Safety and Risk set forth, including emergency action and response. Monitor security doors and cameras. Offer to take written messages and assist with additional requests when necessary. Register substitute teacher arrival and dismissal. Turn off lights and lock the front entry doors at 4 p.m. daily. Sort, organize, distribute, and deliver mail as appropriate, whether filing into mailboxes or organizing packages in the mailroom. Provides assistance to the administrative team as needed by e-mailing, typing, proofing copy, stuffing envelopes, running postage, etc. Initiate contact with faculty when mailboxes are full. Assist the Office of Enrollment in greeting scheduled tours, providing welcome paperwork, and offering refreshments. Maintain display for newsletters and information. Write get-well/sympathy cards to TWCA families as needed. Support the Office of Enrollment as required and needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked administrative workroom. Provides administrative support in a well-organized and professional manner. Develop relationships with the TWCA community while delivering effective verbal and written communication. Uphold a strict level of confidentiality for all information regarding students, faculty, and staff. Support TWCA's mission, vision, and ends goals as set forth by the Governance Board. Balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, meet critical deadlines, and ensure the completion of essential projects. Manage routine office tasks (e.g. mail delivery, phone calls, email, ordering supplies, event request forms, scheduling and event planning support, etc.). Work with other divisions regarding division-specific issues (e.g. lower, middle and high school, admissions, development, the Business Office, Human Resources, facilities, technology, etc.). Attend special events as required which may include evening and/or weekend work. Assist teachers and staff as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in related field. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of standard clerical procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software. Outstanding use of English in all written, verbal, and digital correspondence. Highly organized with an ability to manage a range of objectives and to execute multiple objectives concurrently. Ability to think critically, work collaboratively, and respect confidentiality. Additional Qualifications Possess a strong Christian testimony and be an active member of a Bible-believing church. Commit to personal spiritual development. Serve as a positive Christian role model to students and pursue Christ-like behavior. Be a responsible steward of TWCA's resources and personally support TWCA's fundraising efforts at a level as able. Physical Requirements and Work Environment The ideal candidate can: Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Work in standard office conditions and climate. Work in varied extreme outside weather conditions during special activities and fundraising events, as needed. Perform in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts. Sit and stand for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead. Hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.
