Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Front Desk Receptionist/Patient Concierge to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, streamline patient flow, and ensure smooth clinic operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a compassionate healthcare setting dedicated to delivering top-quality care. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and guiding them through check-in procedures. Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and assist with insurance verification processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and managing appointment reminders. Collect and review patient documentation, including intake forms and medical history updates, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including filing, scanning, and updating medical records in systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Assist with billing procedures by collecting payments, processing medical collections, and coordinating with the billing department for claims submission. Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, managing medical supplies, and facilitating communication between patients and providers. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office or healthcare setting as a receptionist or front desk staff. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix or similar platforms. Familiarity with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical billing procedures. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally. Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing speed (10 key typing), and data entry accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is highly desirable. Clinic experience with dental terminology or hospital experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and appointment scheduling. Prior office management or administrative experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
