Paid training • Employee discount • Healthcare Reimbursement About the role As Retail Lead, you'll set the tone on the floor — coaching the team beside you, running point on inventory accuracy and compliance, and stepping in as Lead on Duty when assigned. It's a hands-on leadership role at a dispensary that takes its team — and the people we serve — seriously. You'll report to Retail Supervisor on shift, with oversight from the General Manager. If you've led a floor before and you're looking for a place where coaching, customer experience, and operational care all matter — this is the role. Leading the Floor Set the tone as the example everyone follows: greeting customers, modeling the Joyleaf Way of Selling, and keeping energy high Run team huddles and communicate daily goals, assignments, and updates Coach teammates in the moment — product knowledge, customer engagement, service standards - to support the success and development of the team Train and engage the team on company initiatives, promotions, and loyalty program Resolve escalated customer concerns with calm and care Manage staff positioning across the floor, POS, reception, and fulfillment based on traffic Step in as Lead on Duty during assigned shifts, owning real-time decisions , store execution, and ensure services levels for customers in-store & online Keeping Things Running Open and close the store — readiness, security, and compliance Track cash handling: scheduled cash drops, tip drops, and reconciliation Maintain accurate counts through daily, weekly, and monthly audits Ensure the sales floor is well merchandised and reflective of current inventory and initiatives Reinforce SOPs and state and local compliance across the team Support onboarding and ongoing training for new and current associates What We're Looking For You'll do well in this role if you: Lead by example — calm, decisive, and quick on your feet when things get busy Give and receive feedback well, without making it feel heavy Have a sharp eye for details — counts, compliance, accuracy Naturally help teammates grow You'll also need: At least one year of leadership experience (shift lead, key holder, supervisor, or similar) in a retail or customer-facing environment Prior sales or customer service experience (required) A high school diploma or equivalent To be 21 or older (a New Jersey requirement for dispensary work) Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday Cannabis experience? The Physical Part You'll be on your feet for most of your shift, moving between the sales floor and the back of house. You'll regularly lift and carry boxes up to 10lbs, and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
