Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant (Public Accounting)
Pay:
$65,000-$75,000 + Bonus (based on experience)

Warrenville, IL (onsite) Position Overview A growing CPA and investment management firm is seeking a detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to support and manage full-cycle accounting functions for a diverse client base. This role offers direct client interaction, ownership of accounting processes, and the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the accounting department. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term career growth with leadership potential. Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Accounting & Client Services Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for multiple clients Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Perform bank and account reconciliations while resolving discrepancies Process payroll, payroll journal entries, and earnings reports Prepare and remit payroll taxes in compliance with federal and state regulations Prepare and file sales tax returns Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation entries Complete month-end and year-end adjusting and closing journal entries Assist with tax preparation activities and collaborate with CPA staff Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding accounting questions and support Process Improvement & Department Support Assist in developing and improving accounting workflows and procedures Help establish scalable processes and departmental best practices Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client service Support the continued growth and structure of the accounting department Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or full-charge bookkeeping Experience working directly with clients strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP principles Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and professionalism Proven ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion Working Conditions Professional office environment Extended periods of computer and desk work Occasional travel to client locations may be required Regular in-person meetings with clients Benefits Competitive salary plus bonus opportunity Medical insurance Retirement plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Why Join This Team?
