  • Full-time Position Summary The Osborn R-O School District is seeking a motivated and student-centered educator to serve as a full-time K-12 Health and Physical Education Teacher for the upcoming school year.
The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness habits for students across all grade levels. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging Health and Physical Education curriculum aligned with Missouri Learning Standards. Provide age-appropriate instruction for elementary, middle, and high school students. Teach fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, team sports, individual activities, and health concepts. Promote student wellness, safety, and healthy decision-making. Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance. Supervise students during classes, activities, and school events as assigned. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to support student success. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior. Maintain equipment, inventory, and safety standards in all instructional areas. Sponsor or assist with extracurricular activities and coaching opportunities may be available. Qualifications Valid Missouri teaching certificate in Health and Physical Education (or ability to obtain certification). Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. Commitment to student growth and school involvement. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Preferred Skills & Attributes Enthusiastic and energetic teaching style. Knowledge of current instructional practices and student wellness initiatives. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team. Desire to contribute to a positive school culture.
